EASTERN
Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) boasts a highly active saxophone studio. Each academic semester contains a multitude of events including performance tours, guest artists, masterclasses, studio recitals, conferences and more.
There are a number of saxophone chamber ensembles at ENMU including multiple quartets and a saxophone choir. The top ENMU Saxophone Quartet (membership by audition) is the premiere saxophone ensemble and has offered performances at high schools, universities and national conferences through New Mexico, Texas, Pennsylvania and Boston.
Past saxophone artists at ENMU include: Griffin Campbell (Louisiana State University) and Quartetto Obrigado, Jeff Benedict (California State University, LA) and the Orion Saxophone Quartet, Iridium Quartet, Brad Leali (University of North Texas), Jonathan Helton (University of Florida), John Sampen (Bowling Green State University), Chien Kwan-Lin (Eastman), Frank Mazzeo (Temple University) and the New Jersey Saxophone Quartet, Daniel Defayet (Paris Conservatory) and more.

The Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) Jazz Ensemble is the premiere Jazz ensemble at ENMU. Auditions are held at the beginning of each semester.
The ENMU Jazz Ensemble regularly performs at New Mexico jazz festivals and other events including the Roswell and Onate Jazz Festivals. ENMU also hosts its own annual jazz festival and high school jazz ensemble competition typically in early April.
